Paul has spent a large portion of his career in the energy sector, starting with 18 years working for a multi-national fuel company (Caltex) in a wide variety of roles, from Finance & Accounting to Retail (service station) and Lubricants. Having also been at a large NZ energy generator and retailer (Contact Energy) in both a Key accounts and Regional Sales Manager role, with a wide portfolio of Electricity, Natural Gas & LPG customers.
This has provided experience and exposure to lead and drive EECA’s direct engagement programme in several guises over the last 8 1/2 years, including Technology Demonstration Fund and the Low emission vehicle fund. The last 3 ½ years have been focused on the public sector, Carbon Neutral Government programme, leading the team helping to decarbonise the Government estate with the aid of EECA toolkits coupled with State Sector Decarbonisation co-funding. This gets him out of bed knowing you can help make a difference.
