Chief Sustainability Officer
The Warehouse Group

David Benattar is Chief Sustainability Officer of The Warehouse Group, New Zealand's largest publicly listed retailer and the third mass retailer globally to become carbon neutral. David started the role in 2018 after holding the position of Chief Experience Officer.

He's also helping the group champion initiatives which support a fair and equal society, tackling issues such as youth employment, gender diversity, period inequity and unhealthy housing.

Prior to joining The Warehouse Group in New Zealand, David was CEO of Hyperbolic – a New York-based innovation lab. There he led clients engagement for technology startups and global brands such as Sears, Kmart, Sephora, L'Oréal and The Estée Lauder Companies. He started his career in New York at Aveda, a Minneapolis based sustainability pioneer and world leader in natural beauty. He spent several years in the nonprofit sector, advancing sustainability in the building and food systems.
